Pune: New age courses have been introduced by many institutes and colleges at the undergraduate level and the enrollment has been overwhelming. Students taking these three-year courses can find jobs after graduation, which has fueled their demand, officials at several institutes said.
Many colleges have also launched degree programs for students who have passed Std X. Victorious Kidss Educares has introduced new subjects examining the global scenario and the changing landscape of jobs and professional requirements.
Topics such as digital society, world religion, political science, geography, German, film, literature and performance are introduced from this academic year.
president of VKE Robbin Ghosh said, “These courses will give students more choice to choose what they want and succeed.”
There is a long tradition of kirtan as a means of entertainment and enlightenment where two styles __warkari and naradiya__ are considered important and many students practice these styles.
The Bharati Vidyapeeth School of Performing Arts has introduced a diploma course on the scientific teaching of kirtan from July 2022.
The university started this four-year course six years ago and so far a total of three batches with over 50 students have completed it.
Course coordinator Sharangdhar Sathe said, “Students can study both warkari and naradiya kirtan at the same time. Studies, songs, stories and elements of Abhang, Kirtan, Akyan, Mahatmya, Sanskrit and Marathi music are also included. ”
Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha introduced two new BVoc Media Courses in Media and Entertainment and a Certificate Course in Media Skills under Shri Siddhivinayak Mahila Mahavidyalaya.
The former is a three-year graduation program, while the certificate course in media skills lasts one year. The cost-effective courses, which will be taught at the School of Media Business Research and Technology, have been designed to train students in media technologies and specific media skills and are made available especially for girls.
Radhika Ingle, director of CLEVER, said, “Right now, girls are more involved in soft skills such as proofreading or content writing, but girls’ involvement in technology fields such as video technology, software engineering sound or production should be increased. These courses have been designed for competency-based training. We have also set up a state-of-the-art audio and video studio.
MIT-ADT University and Credai Pune Metro have a university-industry partnership program for the training of graduate students of all disciplines for the real estate sector.
