Burlington Culture Days – RE:emergence needs artists and performers

Burlington, Ont.—August. 3, 2022—The City of Burlington is calling on local artists, cultural professionals and creative organizations to host free, interactive in-person or online events and activities during the 13e Annual Culture Days.

Culture Days will take place from September 23 to October 16, 2022. This year it is expanding beyond its traditional weekend format to feature a more inclusive and interactive three-week schedule of programs and events. .

Canada is ready for a re-emergence of arts and culture, and so is Culture Days. As the world navigates past norms and designs new solutions for everyday life, arts, culture and expression play a vital role in a healthy and prosperous society. This year’s theme, RE: Emergence, explores new ideas and innovation in arts and culture while committing to creating tangible change in the sector and society. As we learn to live with COVID-19, the Ontario Culture Days Festival will offer a mix of in-person events as well as digital and self-guided programming. Organizers should ensure they follow all municipal, regional, provincial and public health guidelines in their area. Ontario Culture Days has created resource pages for organizers and ways to experience arts and culture across Ontario.

If you would like to host a Culture Days event, register your event online with Culture Days at For more information on participating in Culture Days, contact Adam Belovari at 905-335-7600, ext. 7335 or [email protected] before September 3.

Chris Glenn, Director of Recreation, Community and Culture

“Burlington is pleased to be part of this national initiative to increase awareness, accessibility, participation and resident engagement in arts and culture. I invite our local artists, cultural professionals and creative organizations to offer free events this year and to consider participating in Burlington’s Culture Days. In the past, our cultural community has really come together to provide an incredible selection of cultural programs for our residents to experience culture in Burlington and I can’t wait to see what this year has to offer.

Angela Paparizo, Manager, Arts and Culture

“Each year, artists and cultural organizations in Burlington provide our community with creative and innovative events and programs to help make Culture Days a success. As we enter a new normal and learn to live with COVID-19, I encourage artists and cultural organizations in Burlington to consider in-person and online offerings that best showcase their abilities to connect with our community. Once again, we are thrilled to work with our local arts and culture community to bring another successful Culture Days to Burlington.
